Taken from the Australian Chiropractic Association 2023Chiropractic is a drug and surgery free modality of treatment concerned with the diagnosis, management and prevention of disorders of the musculoskeletal system; this includes the effects of these disorders on the function of the nervous system and general health.Chiropractors work in partnership with their patients by utilising their clinical experience, and tailoring care to your needs and preferences. By using a variety of non-surgical techniques such as specific spinal adjustments, manual therapy and low-force intervention, chiropractors offer a hands-on approach to spinal healthcare. They are not only trained to treat musculoskeletal pain patients, but trained to facilitate health promotion, rehabilitation and patient education.
Osteopathy is a hands-on, whole-person approach to healthcare that focuses on the muscles, joints, nerves and other tissues involved in the way your body moves and functions.Osteopaths are university-qualified, registered health professionals who assess how different areas of the body may be contributing to pain, stiffness or changes in movement and function.Treatment is tailored to the individual and may include soft tissue techniques, joint mobilisation or manipulation, stretching, exercise and advice around movement, posture and lifestyle.Rather than focusing only on the area that hurts, an osteopath considers the broader musculoskeletal system and develops an individual management plan based on your needs and goals.
Yes, Chiropractic and Osteopathy are considered a safe and effective treatment when undertaken by trained, registered practitioner. We ensure we take a thorough clinical history, perform a complete examination and discuss findings before we begin any treatment. The type of treatment received will always be what is most effective and best suited to you, your body and your condition.
Our aim is to get you back to feeling your best in as little time as possible! The amount of care required varies from person to person with lots of factors contributing to this. Namely, age / duration of condition / severity of condition / previous history etc... You will receive a recommendation of care at your initial appointment that will be discussed with you.Once you are out of pain, some people like to enjoy the benefits of regular chiropractic and the frequency of that looks different for different people - some come monthly, some come every few months and others just call and come in when they are in pain. Whatever your choice, we are here to help you and get you feeling at your best again. You will never be asked to sign up to lengthy contracts of care or paying upfront for numerous appointments.

Sure can! There are lots of different chiropractic and osteopathic techniques which are low force and will not result in any "cracking". It's not just "cracking" ...Don't worry, for those who love a manual adjustment, we love those too....!!But there really are treatment styles to suit everyone and together we will find a suitable treatment style to suit you and get the results you desire.
No, we don't make a habit of routinely x-raying every patient we see. If we think x-rays are necessary, we will happily make a referral for you and these are usually able to be bulk billed (spinal x-rays).

We get asked this all the time!! It's such a tricky question! Chiropractic and Osteopathy are both registered healthcare professions that assess and manage a range of musculoskeletal conditions, including problems involving the muscles, joints and spine. There is considerable overlap between the two professions, but their approaches and treatment styles can differ.Chiropractors commonly have a strong focus on the assessment, diagnosis and management of conditions affecting the spine, joints and musculoskeletal system. Treatment may include joint manipulation or mobilisation, soft tissue techniques, exercise, rehabilitation and advice.Osteopaths also assess and treat musculoskeletal conditions but may use a broad range of hands-on techniques, including joint mobilisation and manipulation, soft tissue techniques, stretching and exercise as part of their management approach. Tamara also does a lot of dry needling in her sessions. In practice, the difference often comes down to the individual practitioner, their clinical interests, treatment style and the techniques they use. Both chiropractors and Osteopaths complete university-level training and must be registered with Ahpra to practice in Australia. If you're unsure which practitioner is right for you, our team can help guide you towards the service that best suits your needs and preferences.
